Pinterest Challenge #1

(DAMN. I messed up the logo...)

If you haven't heard of this little challenge brought about by Wendy, you haven't really been in our little blogging/tweeting corner of the world lately, have you?  To sum it up: a group of use internet friends (yep, we are) decided to make/sew/cook/whatever one of our pins on Pinterest.

While most of my cohorts decided to get super crafty with sewing machines and stuff,  (no, I am NOT jealous. Really, really, I'm NOT) I decided to bake. Mostly because I don't have a sewing machine and even if I did I doubt I'd be very good at it.  But baking? I can bake.

Super EASY Apple Dumplings.  (oringinally found here via Pinterest.)

INGREDIENTS:
2 tubes of crescent rolls
2 granny smith apples
2 sticks of butter
1 cup (recipe said 1.5) sugar
1 tsp vanilla
12 oz Mtn Dew
Cinnamon

Peel the apples, core and slice them - 8 slices per apple

roll each apple slice into a crescent roll, arrange in sprayed baking dish

put 2 sticks of butter, 1 cup of sugar and 1 tsp of vanilla in microwavable bowl
Microwave until melted, mix well.

Pour butter and sugar mixture over rolled apples.
Then pour Mtn Dew over everything.

Sprinkle cinnamon on top.
Bake in preheated 350 degree oven for 40 minutes.

Voila!
Apple Dumplings.

Delish.
hot OR cold.
Probably even better with vanilla ice cream, but I didn't have any. :(
